I feel like my mind is doing one thing, my body another and life just keeps getting more chaotic. Does this sound familiar to you? Most of my clients are women and these words flow often from their lips.
"Mind, Body & Spirit Philosophy" is emphasized in my practice. This approach to life is nothing new to our ears. We hear it repeatedly from Oprah's shows, Wayne Dyer, Dr. Phil and the list goes on. We may hear it, but do we understand or apply the concept to our lives? I explain to my clients how massage therapy, Pranic Healing (an energy healing modality) and meditation work together to balance and harmonize the body, mind and spirit. Some are open and eager for the experience, some are cautious and some simply state they are very nervous about initiating any change at all.
In several of my sessions, women who were so stressed out by life and afraid that if they let go their world would spiral out of control, let their bodies gratefully release and unwind through healing touch and energy. This begins the journey of becoming connected.
A large percentage of my female clientele try to be very health conscious and take good care of their bodies by exercising, eating good foods and receiving massage on a regular basis. They realize how important it is to think positive, control negative thoughts and remain optimistic. The mind is a powerful instrument: what we say, what we do, what we think all come from the mind. Women's minds can multi-task quickly and efficiently, but still, many feel something is missing. This something is the spirit connection.
The spirit connection is found deep within, in those moments of calming the body and mind so we can listen to our spirit. The chaotic world around us is quieted, we can hear our hearts beating and feel our lungs inhaling and exhaling with each breath. We become connected to our spirit and soul once again.
The body and mind need the spirit or soul to be the navigator. It's easy to lose direction in life without our spirit guiding us. The soul of a person feeds the mind's creative ideas, gives us the warm feeling inside when we do something good, it is our conscience. The more we are connected to our spirit, the more our lives seemed to be balanced; physical pain is more manageable, our emotions are less erratic and volatile.
Practicing focused meditations help to quiet the mind and body, allowing the spirit connection to come more easily. Meditations that I recommend to my clients are "Meditation on Twin Hearts" and "Meditation for Soul Realization" both audio recordings by Grandmaster Choa Kok Sui.
